Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a form of therapy that is often talked about these days and easily understood.  It has contributed hugely to the psychological literature of today.  Its premise is, at its most basic, what you think influences how you feel, which influences how you behave.

CBT is definitely a great approach to addressing distortions of thought and faulty thinking, looking at how these distortions drive behaviours.

In my opinion, any good therapy has CBT as one component to guide the clients to wellness.  This means, to me, that one of my jobs is to assist clients in identifying the faulty thinking that supports or corroborates their behaviour.  Once these thoughts and/or behaviours are identified, we can problem solve better solutions.
